Every moment counts, especially if you are on holiday!

Spending a few days in Rimini does not only mean relaxing on the beach, but also having an area rich in history, nature and one of the most renowned gastronomy in Italy. To tell you all about this and to deepen the beauty of this area, besides the classic places of seaside tourism, we thought to recommend some different itineraries: from the sea to the mountains, through the peculiarities and unique experiences that only the province of Rimini can give you.

Santarcangelo di Romagna

Santarcangelo is a beautiful town, its terrain partly plain and partly hilly, crossed by two rivers, the Uso and the Marecchia. The atmosphere and the atmosphere you breathe as you stroll through the historic center and along the village streets reflect the dual nature of its inhabitants: popular and noble. This uniqueness makes Santarcangelo the capital of dialect poetry and historic celebrations like the Fiere di San Martino, while also attracting art lovers with famous events like the Santarcangelo dei Teatri and works like the Cagnacci altarpieces.

Casteldelci

At the northernmost point of the province of Rimini lies Casteldelci, a town that serves as a hub for the three regions it encompasses: Emilia-Romagna, Marche, and Tuscany. Its topography lends itself particularly well to excursions, making it a favorite destination for those who enjoy long walks, on foot or on horseback. The historic and natural setting is complemented by trattorias, businesses, and restaurants where you can sample the town's traditional delicacies. Tourists flock to the Ponte Vecchio, built in the Middle Ages, the towers that once served as lookouts, and the museum located in the historic center, filled with finds from various historical periods: prehistory and protohistory, as well as the Roman and early Middle Ages.

Novafeltria

Novafeltria stands on a large meander of the Marecchia River, and in modern times, due to its strategic location, it was used by traders as a base for meetings and trade. The town is renowned for having been the "Malatesta fiefdom" in the Middle Ages and later the property of the Segni Counts of Bologna, who built a luxurious villa in 1660, now the Town Hall. Points of interest include the Church of San Pietro in Culto, built along with other parish churches in the valley, and the Oratory of Santa Marina, located in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, the heart of the town, where the fountain designed by architect Giuseppe Santi Botticelli is also located.

San Leo

The town of San Leo, formerly known as Montefeltro, stands in the Marecchia Valley, atop a gigantic boulder, impassable in its surroundings. At the highest point of the rock stands an impregnable fortress; the strength of its position, difficult to attack, allowed San Leo to be chosen as the capital of Italy in 962. The town's history has left behind a vast architectural heritage: the ruins of several castles surround the Romanesque parish church, the 12th-century Lombard cathedral, the fort, and the museum of sacred art now housed within the Medici palace. The landscape visible from San Leo is one of the most envied inland: the surrounding mountains, connecting with the Marecchia River valley, embrace the sea.

Sant'Agata Feltria

Sant'Agata Feltria is located on the border between Emilia Romagna and the Marche region, and its origins are ancient: it was originally inhabited by the Sarsinati Umbrians, and over time by numerous other fiefdoms, such as the Malatesta, Montefeltro, and finally the Fregoso, whose name also takes its name from the fortress that now houses a permanent museum. The town's historical significance is considerable, and the historic center is home to numerous buildings: the most famous are the church of San Girolamo and the Angelo Mariani theater, built entirely of wood, which boasts being the oldest theater in the Marche region and one of the oldest on the peninsula. The environment and natural landscape surrounding Sant'Agata invite you to spend days walking or horseback riding, not forgetting a visit to Mount Ercole, home to a vast chestnut forest.

Verucchio

Verucchio is a town with a much older history than any other inland town in Rimini. Excavations in the area, which began in 1893 and continued in phases until 2005, have uncovered over 600 burials, dating from the 10th to 7th centuries BC and deriving from the Villanovan culture, the ancient inhabitants of the mountain. The part of town with particular historical interest, due to the archaeological museum, brimming with finds, and the historic center of ancient construction, contrasts with the hamlet of Villa Verucchio, where most of the residents live and the center of the town's economic and industrial activity.

Gradara

Gradara is also located on the border between the Marche and Emilia-Romagna regions, not far from the sea and surrounded by a gently rolling hilly landscape (the outermost edge of the Apennines). Gradara is renowned for its medieval features, reflected in its imposing Malatesta Fortress, along with the fortified village and its recently restored walls.

San Marino

San Marino is among the oldest republics in the world and the only city-state that still exists today. Mount Titano is home to both the characteristic towers and the historic center of San Marino, a visual representation of the medieval identity that pervades the entire city and maintains a sense of belonging to the historical period in which it was founded, thanks to the countless elements of the historic center that have been preserved or restored. The Republic of San Marino is the fourth-smallest state in Europe and is located in the center-north of the Italian peninsula.
